Itinerary discipline: the unbooked day
How to cruise without cruising—staying aboard, sleeping in, remembering silence.

The worst thing you can do on a cruise is book every excursion. The best thing you can do is plan to do nothing — and mean it.
Why staying aboard is radical
Everyone else is racing to the port. You sleep in. You order room service. You sit in a mostly empty dining room. You read. You nap. By afternoon, you have barely left the ship — and yet you feel more rested than you have in years.
The best days are the ones you plan to do nothing.
Permission to pause
FOMO is real at sea — everyone else is snorkeling, hiking, exploring. But you can explore tomorrow. Today you can sit on deck and read and remember what it feels like to do one thing at a time.
We advise: book 40% of the days with excursions. Leave 60% unscheduled. The balance is where the voyage becomes real.
